The following is the news headlines as reported in the German "Rheinische Landeszeitung" newspaper February 1941........

1st February 1941. German bombs on Suez.

2nd February 1941. Daylight attacks on England, direct attack on oil storage depot in London.

3rd February 1941. Luftwaffe active in Africa, bombs dropped on British positions at Sollum and Bardia.

4th February 1941. Tax reforms in Germany and 600 million Reichsmark for children in need.

6th Februay 1941. 17 British aircraft shot down over the Channel. Himmler visits Narvik.

7th Februay 1941. England begins night attacks on Germany, Düsseldorf bombed.

8th Februay 1941. Great day for Jagdgeschwader Lützow, 14 air victories in one hour! U-Boats sink a further 12000 tons today.

10th February 1941. The attacks on Malta continue to roll on. The Ju52 is in service in the desert battles of North Africa.

11th February 1941. The Italians are fighting for their survival. It is announced that in Norway the SS Regiment Nordland paraded in Oslo in front of Himmler (30.01.41).

12th February 1941. The RAF lose 38 aircraft, 11 are destroyed on the ground, 12 are shot down during a British bomber raid on Germany and the rest were lost over the Channel. Mölders has claimed his 56 air victory. The Luftwaffe raided Malta and the Suez.

13th February 1941. U-Boats destroy 21.500 tons and Luftwaffe 7.000 tons of British shipping.

14th February 1941. 13 ocean steamers sunk, new Luftwaffe attacks on Malta and Suez and in North Africa. Armed Jews attack German police in Amsterdam.

15th February 1941. Italians claim to have shot down 19 RAF aircraft. A Dutch Nazi kicked to death by Jewish group in Amsterdam.

16th February 1941. Goebbels says that the German Film industry has an important role to play in the war.

17th February 1941. Thames Docks destroyed, RAF airfields in flames, 19.000 tons of shipping sunk by U-boats, a further 10.000 tons sunk by the Kriegsmarine overseas. ten aircraft shot down by the Luftwaffe.

18th February 1941. First Stuka attack in Libya. U-boats sink 15.000 tons.

19th February 1941. Set-back for England, Turkey and Bulgaria sign a friendship pact.

21st February 1941. England needs new shipping and pleads with the USA

22nd February 1941. Gauleiter Florian says the war is won!

24th February 1941. Mussolini declares that Italy will fight side by side with Germany until the defeat of England.

26th February 1941. Two days of dive bombing attacks on British shipping at Bengazi.
